I am still here.  I am now 37 weeks along.  I went in for an ultrasound last Tuesday to see how big our baby was as I have a tendency to have very large babies and found out that she is 7# 9 oz at 36 weeks.  That is pretty big, but not for me.  I had one son at 35 weeks and he was 7# 9 oz.  Also, I had my daughter at 36 weeks and she was 8# 1 oz.  So this little girl seems to be a little smaller than my others was at this point.

The surprise is that she is breech…I had no idea!  You could have knocked me over with a feather.  I think I’m still shocked.  This has never happened before.

I am going in for an external cephalic version tomorrow to see if they are able to turn her.  She is more like a frank breech with her feet up by her head and butt down.  They said there is a 50% chance that they can turn her.  If they can turn her it can cause distress for the baby, labor, cause your water to break, or they said she may flip right back.  There is only a 1% chance of complications.

Still, I have to be prepared because I have 6 other children that must be cared for.    I have pizzas in the freezer, 2 Stouffer lasagnas, stuff for spaghetti and meatballs, and money set aside in case they need to get food or want to eat out.  Thankfully, this time I have older children.  My oldest drives now.  What a blessing.  He can get them food or something that could be necessary.  My mom doesn’t know the area too well.  Also, 3 are teenagers, so plenty of baby sitters.

My mom is coming down to help 🙂  Thanks mom!

I don’t like the unknown, but I don’t have a choice!  A c-section with my 7th kid could be in my future.  That scares me to death, but I do not want to risk any danger to my baby.

I’ll check-in when I can!

Short Update

I am still around.  I feel like lately all I have to say is that I’m tired.  I keep meaning to update about what is going on around here, but I’m too tired.  Everything is an effort.

I am still keeping up with the kids and their activities, but the house has not stayed so clean.  I am relying on the kids a little more to help me keep up with it.  They have helped without much complaint thankfully.  I think staying busy with the kids has done me some good in this pregnancy as compared with my daughter 5 years ago.  Back then I sat and rested a lot.  Now with the kids being older, they are all doing something, so I run, run, run.  It keeps me from being too much of a couch potato!

I have stayed up with the menu planning, so dinners have been no problem!  Everyone is fed and happy.

Only 9 1/2 weeks until my due date.  The countdown is on!!

Kings Island Pictures

Last weekend was my husband’s company fun day at Kings Island.  My older 4 have season passes that they got at Christmas so they have been there several times this year. My youngest two kids ages 7 and 5 were super excited to go as this is their only trip this year.  They had it all planned out….get there when it opens and stay until it closes.

My plan was a little different.  At 28 weeks pregnant I was hoping to survive and with any luck get out of there before closing.

We arrived shortly after opening and we split up into big kids and little kids.  The big kids went on a couple of rides together, but when we met back up, we found out that kid #3 and kid #4 weren’t getting along.  We then split up with Dad and the boys on one team and Mom and the girl on the other.

A and I went around Kiddy Land for hours.  She wanted to do all of the rides.  There aren’t many places to sit down, and the lines were fairly long in the afternoon.  My legs and back were getting pretty sore and tired.

We met back up with my husband and boys and my older son R took my daughter A into Dinosaurs Alive.  It was a Godsend.  I was able to sit and rest and stretch my back and legs for the 45 minutes that they were in there.  My husband and I talked and S, our 7-year-old  rode every single ride that he was tall enough to ride.  He rode the Drop Zone,  the Beast, the Vortex and the Windseeker.  He is most proud of doing is the Drop Zone!

After the Dinosaurs Alive exhibit we split back up and back to Kiddy Land we went.  A rode all of the rides that she was tall enough to ride.  We started to see all kinds of people with face painting.  I heard earlier that it was free all day, but the lines were long.  Anyway my daughter decided that she wanted to get her face painted.  We waited in line for an hour and she didn’t complain once.  She really wanted to get it done.

Anyway I sort of got my wish because we did get out of there 15 minutes before closing!  It was a great day, everyone had a lot of fun.

Here are some pictures from our day.

A, the pink kitty, with glitter of course!

S relaxing in the wagon.

M, S, and T on Congo Falls.

Here I am sitting while the kids were in Dinosaurs Alive.  I feel like my belly is bigger than that!  It certainly feels bigger than it looks.

I’ve Been Tired This Week

Sorry for the lack of posting this week, but the energy that I had has left me.  I hope it is temporary…but I’m not sure.  When I was pregnant with my daughter 5 years ago once I hit the exhausted stage, it never left until I delivered her.  I keep telling myself that this pregnancy is different, because I was in pretty good shape when I got pregnant, but I’m still not completely convinced.

I haven’t been sleeping very well, so that may be part of it.  With this 3 day weekend, I have been able to sleep in a little bit more, so I hope that helps.

I have been continuing with the cleaning here and there.  The mornings are my best bet to get something done.  I did get the coat closet cleaned out and 2 bags went to Goodwill.

Also, I got our game closet cleaned out.  I took the games that no one plays with and put them on a shelf in the basement.  If no one plays with them for a while, they are going to Goodwill too.

Our basement is about as clean as it can get.  I am amazed that we have gotten this far!  We need to move  a big self with extra food on it to a better spot and put up another bookshelf or two.

I also am working on the laundry room shelves to make them more functional.  I cleaned off 4 of the stationary shelves and I talked my husband into putting wheels on the wire shelf in the laundry room so that I can move it and clean under it.  It has been nice to have the shelf, but it is too low to clean under, so that has made it a pain.  With 6 kids I need to clean under it regularly.  Also, we have a gravel driveway and this is our main entrance into the house with the kids, so tons of debris come in with them.

We are making good progress.  Most of the work is being done by others in the house right now.  I just don’t have the energy.  But done is done!

Tomorrow I will be 27 weeks.  This pregnancy is going pretty fast.  A break in the heat would be really nice.  I can’t decide if it is the heat or the baby sucking all of my energy.  I’m hoping for the heat.  Even if I don’t end up getting more energy, I have gotten a lot done in preparation for this baby!

Here are a couple of pictures of the coat closet.  I forgot to get the before, but I at least got the during.  I hope you have a great long weekend!

A lot of stuff pulled out of the closet and put on the steps to reorganize.

Another pile going to Goodwill!

Yet more stuff to get organized.

Shelf after!

The bottom of the coat closet all cleaned out!

It’s A Girl…

As you can tell from the title, we are expecting a baby!

Number 7.  Yes, you read that right seven.  I am due on December 3, 2012.

I have been wanting to blog about it since I found out in March, but I was too scared.  I am 44 and know that there can be a lot of complications and up to a 50% miscarriage rate after you turn 40.

Anyway, I made it through the first 12 weeks with no problems whatsoever!  Then I had a slight problem for a couple of weeks.  It has resolved itself (thank God!) and we found out last week that our new addition is a girl.

If you don’t know by reading my blog, I have 5 boys and 1 girl (plus this new addition).  My boys are  16, 14, 13, 10, and 7.  My girl is 5.  Before my daughter was born, I didn’t think that we could have a girl.  Apparently I was wrong.

We were shocked to be expecting another baby when our youngest is 5.  Of course we got rid of all of our baby stuff when my youngest was 3.

It will be fun to get some new (pink) stuff!

Here she is:

I am labeling the top picture number 1.  It is a picture of her foot.

Picture number 2 is her profile.

Picture number 3 has the “girl” parts.  We just had to believe the ultrasound tech because we can’t tell at all.

We are thankful for a healthy baby.  My children are really interested in this baby and the pregnancy.  They are always touching my belly and talking to her.  Cute!

My daughter was so excited that it was a girl when I called to tell them that she wanted the new baby to be born on that day because she couldn’t wait to meet her!

There is nothing like a new baby!
